Curriculum

NIS, the benchmark of a positive learning atmosphere is affiliated to Gujarat State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB). The school strives to impart the education through an exquisite combination of culture and heritage working in tandem with the varied play way methods and the all-inclusive dimensions of learning. NIS seeks to foster in its students the amalgamation of the three Rs, i.e., Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, and maneuvering them into the implementation of the collaborative spirit of the three Hs, i.e., Head, Heart and Hands, with a view to open up the vast vistas for a child.

The curricula at NIS is well-calculated and laid out with features that meet all the requirements of an expansive learning programme.

: CCE : Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation: :

CCE is a methodology to incorporate holistic development of a child. A school based evaluation which continues in nature rather than one event or one assessment. It not only acknowledges academic growth of a child but also identifies a child's individual skills, interests, attitude and value system. Thus taking care of the child's overall personality and developing comprehensive evaluation. Scholastic and co-scholastic assessments are the two domains assessed for a learner. The weightage components are fixed but there is a flexibility in tools and techniques. The teachers are empowered to device their own techniques and form rubrics accordingly.

: Happy Kidzzz [Pre-school (Nursery to Sr. KG)]: :

The Pre-School at NIS, Happy Kidzzz, works with the ethos of expounding an enchanting world of fun and frolic for the students and lays an unfathomable base for an eternal learning process of life managerial skills and learning. A kaleidoscopic range of activities like, drawing, colouring, cutting, tearing, pasting, clay work, music & singing, dance, story telling, dramatics have been introduced to hone the esoteric talents of the students through the play way methods.

: Secondary School :

Sanskar Niketan? Secondary School has been started in 1963 in order that children of ?Ashram shala ? and ? Matrughar Anathashram? may  not have to go outside for study after 7th standard. Its name was kept as C.J. Kothari High School in the year 1964 in which children from round about villages also study from 8th to 10th standard. : Primary School (Grade I to Grade V) :

The creative and innovative approach is the basis of the teaching in the primary classes, where the learning is catered through the hands-on experiences. Learning through experience is imparted through exposure to myriad of activities in both the Scholastic and the Co-scholastic areas during this impressionistic stage. Relentless dedication is involved to explicate the child’s scientific temper, to educe an inquisitive mind, to enable to express oneself and to master the communication skills with confidence. A third language is introduced at this stage.

: Secondary School (Grade VI to Grade X) :

The prescribed syllabi of GSEB form the basis of the curriculum at this stage. A student is exposed to a wide spectrum of knowledge which revolves around the basic syllabi. Project work, AV aids, hands-on experiences, excursions and visiting dignitaries, help to enhance the student's foundation which helps him or her to pursue studies further. The subjects, that are being taught, are English, Hindi, Gujarati, Maths, Science, Social Studies, Sanskrit, Physical Education and Computers. Students are also taught Value Education and Vedic Maths, specially designed courses.

: Higher Secondary School (Grade XI to Grade XII) :

The Senior Wing of the school strives to maintain excellence in academics to enable the students to stand at par in today’s competitive world. The conformity with the GSEB pattern ensures the holistic development of the students encapsulating scholastic and co-scholastic aspects including Life-Skills, Attitudes and Values, Performing Arts, Health and Physical Education. The prime focus is to bring forth innovation in teaching-learning methodologies by devising student friendly and student centred paradigms.
